Project Overview
The wider objective of the project is
to increase the computer science curriculum quality in
higher education with management and business skills up to
the level of the EU standards, global education tendencies
and industry needs. To meet this wider objective we setup
specific tasks to introduce management and business courses,
from one side and technology driven courses in e-Business,
Web and mobile computing to the other. These tasks will
improve undergraduate and graduate curricula in computer
studies, flexible to adapt to new technologies and trends.
To accomplish these outcomes we assume a good cooperation
between consortium partners and use of EU support and
experience. This wider objective will be assessed by the
outcomes in this project:
1.
Introduction of new courses with business oriented and
technology driven aspects 2.
Introducing (IRS) Interactive Response System 3.
New teaching environment – laboratory practicing 4.
New teaching materials – textbooks and manuals 5.
Teachers retraining 6.
Dissemination and sustainability
7.
Quality control and monitoring 8.
Management of the project
The outcomes from
this project concern new course development with both
business oriented and technology driven aspects, designing
new teaching materials and teacher re-training, establishing
new teaching methods and environment with Interactive
Response System and lab practising. The new CS curriculum
includes the following new courses:
(PMSE)
Project Management and Software Engineering
(BEM) Business, Economics and Marketing
(e-World) e-Business, e-Commerce and e-Learning
(WCM) Web technology, Cryptography and security,
Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing
Therefore we propose
4 working groups to fulfil the given objective with the
following indicators:
-
New courses in
Computer studies
-
Curricula for new
courses developed
-
Teaching
materials: textbooks, instruction manuals
-
Innovation in
presentation with (IRS) Interactive Response System and
laboratory practicing
-
Web and multimedia
CD presentations for courses including teaching materials,
lectures, slides and exercises
-
IRS testing
materials for all the proposed courses
-
Center for new
technologies (wireless and web e-Business lab)
Meeting the
innovations we expect to achieve the following goals:
- To increase the
number of students
- To arise the
quality of CS education following EU development trends
and industry needs
- To
decrease average study period
- To offer
students more practical experiences
acquired in teaching environment
- To make
graduated students competitive with students in EU
